Best Interview Tips |
Interview Tips for Fresher, Before you move forward for an interview with any organization,
first, let's try to understand,
"On what all things a candidate is assessed".
It is observed, candidates with excellent qualifications
and certificates fail to crack a simple interview with the Human Resource team, and
on the other hand candidates good in behavioral competencies easily go through the
tough Interview Questions. The selection/rejection or salary negotiation of any
candidates apart from his / her knowledge, experience and educations is largely
depend on a candidate's behavioral competencies.
"You can refer to my earlier blog on "Factor Considered for Salary Calculation".
Let us discuss the same and understand Interview Tips.
1) Personal Effectiveness - Judgment on candidate's customer
interfacing skills based on
Ø Overall
personality (posture, body language, effectual presentation skill,
communication tone, eye to eye contact, etc)
Ø Confidence
level (person's belief in his or her own capability to accomplished the task,
reaching or forming the decisions)
Ø Flexibility
(ability to adapt to and work effectively in any situations, Individual or
group, to understand and appreciate the different and opposing perspective of
issues, overall not a candidate with high rigidity in his belief & focus)
Ø Customer
orientation (focusing one's efforts on discovering and meeting the customer's
or client needs)
2) Communication skill - Ability to present ideas or points
in a
clear and succinct manner taking into consideration the audience and
situation.
3) Interpersonal skills - Ability to work & interact
with people from a variety of backgrounds effectively. This may be judged based on
the listening power, sensitivity to others, awareness of others’ feelings,
cross-cultural sensitivity & related parameters.
5) Analytical thinking - Ability to understand a situation
based on the available information/data. It includes organizing the parts of
a problem or a situation in a systematic way; making comparisons of different
features; setting priorities on a rational basis; identifying time sequences,
causal relationships etc to reach a solid solution.

6) Dealing with ambiguity - Ability to perform in uncertain situations when complete information might not be available. This also includes coping with uncertainties that are brought in by the change in business conditions, technologies, work environment, etc..
An interviewer may check these points by asking a scenario-based
questions like "what will you do in case you need to submit the project in
next to one hr and your system is down" or may pick questions from your
resume so better make your resume very informative, you can refer to my earlier
blog on "How to prepare the resume".
