The changes you want in others, you must first make the change yourself |
Once upon a
time, there was a Teacher in one of the villages, all the people of the same
village and other surrounding villages used to listen and respect him.
If sometimes,
there was a debate on any issue in the village, the people would come to the Teacher
for advice and listen to the Teacher without hesitation.
One day a woman
brings her 5-year-old son to the Teacher, and complains about his son that he
does not listen to me and eat a lot of Jaggery.
Please tell him
to listen to him and stop eating Jaggery.
The Teachers
stay quiet for a while and then ask that woman to come again tomorrow along with
her son.
The woman walks
away with a salutation and arrives again the next day along with her son and
set in front of the Teacher. The Teacher lovingly takes that 5-year-old boy to
him and says "You are a good boy, obey your mother, and stop eating Jaggery
from tomorrow “OK." now go home.
The woman with
a confused smile ask the Teacher, "Sir, can I question you one
thing", the Teacher says "Please go ahead”.
You just told
my son not to eat Jaggery, you could have said this even yesterday, then why
did you call me today?
The Teacher
smiled and said, "I too love to eat Jaggery, yesterday when you brought
your son to me, I was eating Jaggery. How can I tell someone not to do things,
which I love to do?
Therefore, from
today I left eating Jaggery, and now I am worth to explain your son.
Moral of the
story - The changes you want in others, you must first make the change
yourself.
